SUMOLIGHT is a german-based Start-Up located in the heart of Berlin. Since 2011, they have been developing and manufacturing professional LED lighting systems and accessories for the motion picture and television industry. Their portfolio of lighting products comprises of the SUMO100, SUMO100+ and the Cine Gear award-winning SUMOSPACE, all of which include the unique and patented fan-free cooling system, interchangeable optics and a wide selection of snap-on accessories.
The first project was a marketing campaign for the lead-up and launch of SUMOSPACE at Cine Gear. This campaign was in combination with defining a clear and simplistic brand appearance that was unique and identifiable. The brand needed to unite content, be variable yet systematic and bulletproof. It had to adapt to any format and hold up to interpretation by agencies and vendors around the world.
As a nod to SUMOLIGHT’s strong logo designed by its founders, I built a brand that plays out across a variety of media including digital, print and outdoor advertising. In addition, I developed a system which allows SUMOLIGHT to express its own personality through bespoke art direction that is kept simplistic in appearance to improve recognition rates as well as paying attribution back to the logo.
Over the course of my three-year service to SUMOLIGHT, together with the successful campaign launch and rollout of their brand, I was awarded creative control across all their various projects, campaigns, photoshoots and other brand-related products, including their website, expos and events, social media management, catalogues, presentations and guides, not to mention a branded system guide to keeping the identity fresh and unified.
